22 Full Moon Ritual Ideas

Thou chosen sister of the Spirit, That gazes on thee till in thee it pities ...

- To the Moon

BY PERCY BYSSHE SHELLEY

The moon governs the waters and according to many religions, witches and spiritual leaders does more than affect us. The full moon is thought to bring our emotions to the surface, whether those be good or bad, peaceful or violent. In fact as many have mentioned the word "lunatic" comes from the Late Latin "lunaticus" a belief that during the full moon caused temporary insanity (in women).

Contrary to a new moon ritual during which we may set intentions and plan our goals, the full moon encourages us to let go. With the sun and moon as far away from each other as they are ever our ego and emotions take a break from each other and we are temporarily awarded the ability to see and analyze our emotions.

Let's talk moon rituals. As some of you may know a full moon ritual can be a truly wonderful experience of self-aliment and connecting to your inner spirituality. The full moon is a powerful energetic occurrence that signifies the monthly ending of a cycle and in our life, it is our chance to let go of that which we have been looking to release, it is a great time to connect to ourselves and really take inventory of our life.

Building your own full moon ritual is a deeply personal thing that is up to each individual person but below we wrote out some possible ideas of things you can do to build your ceremony.

1. Deep clean your living space

Every ritual starts with having a clean space and this is no exception.

2. Declutter

As the living legend, icon, and living meme Marie Kondo said, “The best way to choose what to keep and what to throw away is to take each item in one's hand and ask: 'Does this spark joy? ' If it does, keep it. If not, dispose of it. This is not only the simplest but also the most accurate yardstick by which to judge.”

3. Take a long relaxing bath.

Spice it up with essential oils or epsom salts.

4. Charge your crystals

The best way to charge your crystals is under the light of the full moon just don't forget to wash them under running water first.
